St Austell Brewery...

St Austell Brewery has signed a sponsorship deal to support Brixham RFC through the Brewery’s flagship Tribute Ale brand.

The agreement means Brixham’s first team will take to the field next year proudly sporting the Tribute logo on their shirts. St Austell Brewery will also be the main supplier to the Brixham RFC club bar.

The deal is part of the Brewery’s ongoing and wide-ranging support for club rugby across the region. As well as sponsoring a number of individual clubs in Devon and Cornwall, Tribute is the official beer of South West rugby through its sponsorship of 14 South West Leagues, encompassing 157 rugby teams competing in leagues level six and below across the region.

Danny Crab, regional sales manager, St Austell Brewery, said: “We’re delighted to have agreed this deal to be supporting Brixham RFC from next season as well being the main supplier for the club’s bar through our region-wide wholesale distribution business.”

“It is an example of the Brewery’s continued support for local rugby, including through our wider sponsorship of the Tribute Leagues and our highly successful ‘Tribute – You’ve Earned It’ marketing campaign.”

Mike Walker, Vice Chairman, Brixham RFC said: “We are all very pleased at Brixham RFC with the deal we have done with St Austell Brewery and we are very grateful for their support going forward,

“It's good news for the club and also for visitors to the bar who will now be able to enjoy St Austell Brewery’s selection of excellent ales.”

The announcement of the rugby sponsorship deal continues a hugely exciting year for St Austell Brewery and its Tribute Ale. Last week (March 28) Tribute was announced as the highest new entry – and the only Devon or Cornwall-brewed ale – to feature in the annual Brands Report 2008, published by The Publican, which ranks the top 200 drinks brands sold in UK pubs based on annual sales. The ranking put Tribute in the top 20 cask ales out of more than 500 sold in pubs across the country.
