The RFU are running an Entry Level Referee Award Course at THORNBURY RFC on Sundays 18th & 25th January 2009 (9:30 – 4:00)

THE COURSE IS AN IDEAL INTRODUCTION TO REFEREEING FOR ALL LEVELS OF REFEREE FROM MINI/MIDI RIGHT THROUGH THE YOUTH AGE GROUPS AND THE ADULT GAME

BRING YOURSELF UP TO DATE WITH ALL THE EXPERIMENTAL LAWS.

Details of the Entry Level Referee Award and booking forms can be found at this link: Click Me

The course (the Entry Level Referee Award or ELRA) takes place over two full days (9:30 to 4:00) and includes classroom discussion and practical elements. The emphasis is on how to referee rather than what to referee. The better referees know when not to blow the whistle!

The programme for the day includes a practical element and covers the following:

Referee Roles, Responsibilities and Attitudes
Judgement and Materiality
Safety
Communication and Positioning
Problem Areas/Theory into Practice
Game Management and Control

Remember, a Referee isn’t just for Christmas, without one there really wouldn’t be a game!
